Edward "Eddy" A. Amon, age 60, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Tuesday, September 24, 2024. A Celebration of Eddy's Life will be held Thursday, October 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia.
Eddy was born on Fort Benning, Georgia on August 13,1964; the son of Edward C. Amon, Jr. and Lisalotte Amon. He graduated from Kendrick High School.
Eddy was an ASE Certified Master Mechanic. He was employed at the Gateway Ford, Lincoln, Mercury dealership for 20 years. He was a fabulous mechanic that never met a challenge that he couldn’t beat because “he was the greatest.” Eddy had numerous customers that became life-long friends due to his integrity, work ethic and their trust in him as “their” mechanic. He enjoyed cooking, using the smoker and hanging with his friends. He loved listening to music, watching movies, and going to the races with his friends. He was a joker, he loved to make people laugh. He enjoyed going fishing, boating, and riding his motorcycle.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Edward and Lisalotte Amon.
Survivors include: his girlfriend, Sophia R. Weathers, of Columbus, Georgia; his “ride or die” cherished dog, Scratch; his step-children, Trey Weathers, of Smiths, Alabama, Leslee Clark, of Phenix City, Alabama, Thomas (Elana) Cagle, of Georgetown, Georgia; his sisters, Diana (Randy) Johnson of Liberty, South Carolina, Deborah Stull, of Resaca, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews.
He enriched our lives with his loving kindness and will be greatly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
