Edna R. Haines

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, April 24, 2010 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 with Chaplain Debbie Mooreland officiating. The family will greet friends Saturday, April 24, 2010 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Mrs. Haines was born July 26, 1926 in Dothan, AL to the late J.M and Oma Martin Ray. She has owned several businesses in the community over the years, lastly, Edna’s Gift Shop at the airport. Mrs. Haines was also a longtime member of Evangel Temple. Her generosity was shown by her giving to those less fortunate.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Haines was preceded in death by her seven brothers, and sisters, a her daughter, Ann Marler of Pensecola, FL.

Survivors include two daughters, Nancy Wilbourn and her husband, Donald of Madison, AL, and Janice Gibbs and her husband, Larry of Stroudsburg, PA; one son Danny Haines of Cataula, GA; seven grandchildren, Ronny Marler, Chester and Jason Murray, Jennifer Yarbough, Justin Gibbs, Jackie Devilbliss, and Shawn Clark; seven great grandchildren and two great great grandchild.
