Dorothy Marie Sasser, age 85, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Wednesday, September 7, 2022. A visitation for family and friends of Dorothy will be held Tuesday, September 13, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 2:55 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907, followed by a celebration of Dorothy's life at 3:00 PM.
Dorothy was born August 4, 1937, in Oklahoma; the daughter of Ponie Coburn and Rosie Woods Coburn. Dorothy loved the Lord and did her best to live by his teachings. She is an angel who is loved by all that knew her. She was full of light and it radiated about her. She lived her life being a loving, caring, and empathetic person. These qualities allowed to live a rich life, when others were in need, she was there to love and serve them as best she could. She loved unconditionally. Dorothy also showed her love for her family and others through her baking. The holidays were extra special with her, because everything she baked was from scratch. All the cookies, cakes, candies and other goodies were homemade with love. Dorothy cherished her family and loved each one of them dearly.
Dorothy is preceded in death by: her husband, Buford Ray Sasser, Sr. and a son, Danny Sasser.
Survivors include: her children, Larry (Debbie) Sasser, Buford (Alee) Sasser Jr., Joyce (Donald) Addison, Linda (Jimmy) Chandler, Donna Sasser; 14 grandchildren, Michelle, Leslie, Wayne, Todd, Amber, Tiffany, Donnamarie, Buford III, Donald, Michael, Shannon, Erynn, Jesse, Lauren; 19 great grandchildren, Tatyana, Tre, Preston, Gracee, Sadie, Jayden, Steven, Calie, Caleb, Noah, Courtland, Abigail, Daniel, Anthony, Aniyah, Michael, Emmy, Naomi, and Kaleb.
