A visitation for family and friends will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2019 followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, Columbus, GA. with Bro. Tommy Green and Bro. Don Wilhite officiating. Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery.
Louise, as she was called, was born on August 24, 1928 in Sikes, Louisiana to Butler G. Spangler and Vada Mae Gates Spangler. She was a devout Christian and Godly woman. She was a Preachers wife who spent many an hour telling and teaching others about Gods love. She was an amazing cook and baker who passed that skill on to loved ones. She along with her husband spent 10 years as house parents at the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home, and spent the rest of her life traveling and spoiling her family. She will be greatly missed by her family and loved ones.
She is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, R.G Spangler; sisters Elouise Spangler and Dollie Sue Spangler Worsham; and her Beloved Husband Arley Raymond Powers.
She is survived by her son, Michael Powers and wife Terri of Minden, La; and Daughter, Pamela Powers-Moore and husband Larry of Rockmart, Ga; Grandsons, Matthew Powers and wife Leah of Springdale, Ark; and Jason Moore and wife Summer of Valley, Al; Granddaughters Jodie Peterson and husband Wayne of Rockmart, Ga; April Cassidy and husband Jessie of Minden, La; and Kassie Wood and husband Aaron of Fortson, Ga; 7 Great-grandchildren, brother Jimmy Spangler and wife Elaine; Sister Jannell and husband Kenneth both of Louisiana; Sister Marynell and husband Billy of Texas; along with a whole brood of loved nieces and nephews and loved ones.
