Doris Peterson

Doris P. Peterson of Phenix City, Alabama passed away peacefully Monday, March 9, 2015. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, March 12, 2015, 3:00 PM with Reverend Robert S. Goodman officiating, at Striffler-Hamby in the Mill Room, Columbus, Georgia. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Mrs. Peterson, daughter of the late J.C. Paulk and Rosie Belle Paulk, was born April 17, 1928 in Jackson County Florida. She was a resident of Columbus and Phenix City for most of her life. Mrs. Peterson retired from Southern Phenix Textiles in 1991 and Wal-Mart in 2002. She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church in Phenix City, Alabama.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Noah H. Peterson and daughter-in-law Connie C. Peterson. Survivors include her daughter Joanne Melton (James) of Chelsea, AL., son Noah Jerome Peterson of (Columbus), grandchildren; Crystal C. Melton, James D. Melton (Brittany), Matthew Peterson, Michele Peterson (Frank)and Dillon Peterson; great grandchildren include Kylie Melton, Katie Peterson, Megan Cooke, Cason Cooke and Lana Cooke; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
