She was born on April 10, 1954, at the 97th General Hospital in Germany, to the late Dorothy E. Napier and William L. Napier. Her dad’s military career sent her family back to the United States and they settled in Columbus, GA. Sue attended Jordan Vocational High School. She worked at Denim North America until her retirement. Sue loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, they were her whole heart. She also enjoyed fishing, camping, collecting antiques, and gardening. Sue was a huge Alabama football fan. She loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and will be forever in the hearts of her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy E. Napier and William L. Napier; her first husband, James L. Rhoden; her husband, Paul S. Bloxom III; and her son, Paul S. “Bubba” Bloxom IV.
Sue’s loving memory will be treasured by her children: James B. “Bo” Rhoden (Tonia) of Bunnlevel, NC, Sheri E. Love (Tyrone) of Marina, CA, and Matt Avery of Childersburg, AL; her grandchildren: Preston Rhoden, Chance Rhoden, Naddilyn “Naddie” Love, and Tyrone “TJ” Love, Jr., Conner Avery, and Kylan
Avery; her great grandchildren: Hunter Neil Rhoden and Hayden James Rhoden; her stepmom, Elke Napier; her sisters: Debra Herndon (Matt), Jean Napier Walburg (Don), Anke Ivey (Tim), and Christina Ann Napier; her brothers: William “Bill” Hilbert (Pam), William “Fred” Napier (Nancy), William “Bill” Napier Jr. (Denise), and Michael Napier (Amy); and a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
A graveside memorial service will be held on Monday, September 12, 2022, at 10:30 a.m. in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend Mike Reeves officiating. Family will visit with family and friends after the service at the graveside.
