Memorial services for Mr. Mercer will be 3:00 pm, Thursday, December 1, 2011 in the chapel of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary 4071 Macon Road Columbus, with Reverend Lewis Brown officiating. Visitation for Mr. Mercer will be from 5-7 pm, Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at the funeral home.
Mr. Mercer worked at Toms Food for 43 years as a supervisor in the bakery.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Kathy Mercer, daughters; Tabatha Scherrer and husband Michael, Kristie Mercer Wise and husband Neil, Jr., son; Sean C. Payne and wife Leslie, one sister, Vickie Greene, a great aunt; Margaret Flanagan, grandchildren; Sara and Carson Payne, Lauren and Jack Wise, Cole Thweatt, Case and Heather Hargraves, and David's special babies; Scarlett and Prissy Mercer.
