C. David Corley, 80, of Cataula, Georgia passed away on December 31, 2023 at Piedmont Midtown Hospital in Columbus, Georgia. He was born on June 15, 1943 to the late Aileen Spenny Corley and Leslie Earl Corley, Sr. David was a 1963 graduate of Jordan Vocational High School. He married Suzanne Hightower in October of 1964 and together they called the Columbus area home. He worked in HVAC sales and service, retiring as maintenance supervisor at City of Columbus Prison.
David was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother. He enjoyed the great outdoors with fishing being his favorite pastime. David was Christian by faith; he was a member of Morningside Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and high school Sunday School teacher. David was a member of Georgia Power Columbus Ambassadors.
His loving memory is left to be cherished by his loving wife of 59 years, Suzanne Corley; his son, Jeffrey David Corley (Kristi); his daughter, Jennifer Corley Parker (Tommy); his grandchildren: Haley Parker Benn (Cody), Olivia Tillman Parker, and Turner Albert Corley; his great-granddaughter, Sevi Mae Benn; his sister, Helen Corley Medley; and numerous nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by his parents, Aileen and Leslie Corley, and his siblings, Patricia Corley Eddings and Leslie Earl Corley, Jr.
A funeral service to celebrate David’s life will be held on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 3:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia. Family will visit with friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM. A private family burial will be in Parkhill Cemetery.
