Geneva, Georgia - Daniel Robert Hammond 71, of Geneva, GA died on March 5, 2015. Graveside services for Mr. Hammond will be 2:00 PM, on Monday, March 9, 2015 at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with Reverend Marvin Herbert officiating, according to Striffler- Hamby 4071 Macon Road Columbus GA. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 4-6 PM, at the funeral home. Daniel Robert Hammond was born on February 1, 1944 in Phenix City, Alabama to the late Jerry Luke Hammond and Mary Florence Hammond. He served his country in the United States Army serving in the Vietnam War. Mr. Hammond was an avid fisherman, a loving husband and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Survivors include his wife, Loy Hammond, step-children: Jonathan Rice, Christopher (Ellen) Rice, and Victoria (Sandy) Bacle, one brother: Jerry N. (Rita) Hammond, two sisters: Ann H. (Jimmy) Mann, and Gloria H. (Larry) Owens, three nieces: Kim (Gil) Gonzales, Kristi (Tom) Washborn, and Teresa (Chris) Franklin, and one nephew: Michael Owens. Pallbearers will include: Wayne Mahoney, Jerry Powell, Buddy Eallard, Jeff Mann, and Roy Rosso.
