Dr. Dan Stephen Hollis, 70, of Columbus, died on Sunday, June 4, 2017 at a family residence. Visitation will be scheduled Monday, June 12, 2017 from 10:30 am to 11:30 am at Striffler Hamby Funeral Home 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus followed by a Graveside Service at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road Columbus, 12:00pm with the Reverend Dennis B. Lacy and Reverend Robert French officiating.
He was the son of the late CWO Dan Hollis Jr and late Bernice Lolley Heath and was born on March 31, 1947 in Columbus, GA. He attended Jordan High School, Columbus College, Asbury College and then Bowman-Gray Medical School at Wake Forest. He went on to found Hollis Eye Institute in Columbus, GA and later Hollis LASIK in Auburn, AL.
Dr. Hollis is survived by children Aaron Hollis, Anna Knight and Branning Hollis as well as three grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers Russell Heath and Patrick Heath.
