Cynthia Joyce Dunn

Columbus, Georgia- Cynthia Joyce Dunn, age 68, resident of Columbus, died on Monday, July 28, 2014 at St. Francis Hospital. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Monday, August 4, 2014, 2:00pm, with Reverend Jim Hilderbrand officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will include; Chuck Weaver, Doug Lucas, Wayne Boswell, Jimmy Lawrence, Danny Bedsole, and Sonny Turner. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the service.

Ms. Dunn, daughter of the late Grady and Mary Reese Kirkland, was born June 20, 1946 in Columbus, Georgia. She attended and graduated from Baker High School in 1964, then graduating from Perry Business School after. In 2003, Ms. Dunn retired as Program Assistant for Rehabilitation Services of Georgia. She was an outdoors person, loved to go to the beach as much as she could as well as painting and other crafts.

Ms. Dunn is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Rascoe and her husband Donald. She is survived by many close friends who were her family. Ms. Dunn is also survived by her loyal companion "Bella" and her two parakeets.
