Connie Thomas, age 56, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Sunday, December 13, 2020. A visitation of family and friends of Connie will be held Wednesday, December 16, 2020 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 17, 2020 at 2:00 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary.
Connie was born April 16, 1964 in Columbus, Georgia, the daughter of Sherry Yeamons and Harry Yeamons. Connie graduated from Pentecostal Christian Academy in 1982. On November 23, 1982 she married Joel Thomas, and they have two sons, Ryan and Justin. Connie worked for Lewis Jones Food Market until they were bought out by JTM/Piggly Wiggly. She had a strong work ethic and became a store manager. She was a member of The Church of Columbus and loved her church family. Connie lived her life as a servant to Jesus Christ, loving and serving those around her, she was loyal and faithful to Christ and her church. There are many that are grateful that Connie loved to cook and bake; everything she made was delicious. Connie loved Coach purses and enjoyed the thrill of the hunt in finding the perfect bag. Connie loved her husband, sons, daughters-in-law, and especially her grandson, Jasper, who called her Nonnie. She loved spending time with them; whether at home or traveling, time spent together was the best. She was recognized by her husband, Joel, as “The Queen.”
Connie was preceded in death by her father, Harry Yeamons.
Connie is survived by her husband, Joel Thomas; son, J. Ryan Thomas (Rachel); and son, Justin R. Thomas (Kim); mother, Sherry Yeamons; brother, H. James Yeamons, Jr. (Gail); brother, Phillip Yeamons; and sister, Joyce Hendrix (Keenan); grandson, Jasper Thomas, many nieces, nephews, friends, and friends of the family that will cherish her memory.
