A visitation for family and friends of Clyde will be held Monday, January 31, 2022 from 11:30 AM to 12:45 PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia; a graveside service will follow at 1:00 PM in Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia.
Randall was born on May 30, 1954, in Birmingham, Alabama; the son of Clyde William Thompson and Jocelyn Frey Thompson.
He married the love of his life Terri Lane on August 5, 1972 at Mount Carmel Christian Church, Decatur GA. They started their family and made Cumming, GA their home. Randall cherished his wife, Terri, he said it many times, “he was a one woman man.” Randall served the Lord with all his heart throughout his life. He worked hard, as the owner of Thompson Drywall, for his family and loved to see them happy. He also believed and taught his family how to play hard, whether it was on the beach in Panama City, FL or on the pontoon boat at the lake he could be found enjoying a cold drink with Malibu Rum. He loved old cars and the family loved hearing the make and model of each one. He was a lifelong fan of the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs. He enjoyed a good laugh, but usually he was the one making everyone else laugh. Randall loved his family, everything in life is better when you share it with friends and family. He was loving, kind, funny, honest, honorable, and an almost perfect husband and father. Dad we will miss you dearly, however we find comfort in knowing you are reunited with mom.
He is preceded in death by: his wife, Terri; and his parents, Clyde and Jocelyn Thompson.
