Charles Alexander Raley, 65, of Midland, GA died peacefully at his home on Saturday, August 8th, 2020. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Friday, August 14, 2020, at Striffler-Hamby, Columbus, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday. The interment will follow at Parkhill Cemetery.
Charles was born April 22, 1955, in Columbus, Georgia, son of the late Bobby J. Raley and Helen Louise Raley. He graduated from Glenwood School in 1973, where he excelled academically and on the football field. Charles went on to work for Norfolk Southern Railroad, Charbroil and in 1986, he began his career at Pratt & Whitney as a Quality Control Inspector where he later retired in 2019, from what is now Precision Components International. He then went on to obtain his real estate license and enjoyed his time working as a Realtor with Rose Anne Erickson Realty.
Charles was an avid sports enthusiast and a lifelong fan of Alabama football. He loved his dog Bama and listening to country music. Charles always had a joke to tell and his laugh was contagious. Always loving, always loved. His greatest joy was his family and he will be missed tremendously.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Sandra Fuhrman and brothers Jimmy Locklar and Robbie Raley.
Survivors include his daughters, Heather (Brad) Hallam and Amber (Justin) Shepherd all of Smiths Station, AL; three granddaughters, Aubrey Hallam, Ansley Hallam and Addison Shepherd; sister Rose Anne (Dave) Erickson of Cataula, GA; and brother David (Donna) Raley of Dallas, GA and many other friends and family.
