Charles “Charlie Brown” Jackson, Jr., age 66 of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Sunday May 28, 2023. A visitation for the family and friends of Charles will be held Sunday June 4, 2023 from 2:00PM to 3:00PM at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary- Columbus, 4071 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907, followed by a Celebration of Charlie’s Life at 3: 00 PM.
Charlie was born December 28, 1956, in Columbus, Georgia; the son of Charles Jackson, Sr. and Cardiel Jackson. Charlie graduated from Kendrick High School, he became a carpenter by trade, and he was a Baptist by faith. Charlie was a free spirit, he was his own man, he was adventurous and spontaneous. He was brave and fearless. Charlie was loving, he loved his family fiercely, he cherished his mother, and his dogs were indeed his best friends. Charlie loved to travel, being with family and friends only made traveling better. Charlie was a competitor, he never gave up on life, he eventually succumbs to cancer, but it wasn’t because he quit.
Charles is preceded in death by: his father Charles Jackson, Sr., his mother Cardiel Jackson Davis and a sister Dorothy Ryles.
Survivors include: his son, Charles Devonta (Tae) Hussey and Akebia Hussey; a step daughter Natasha and Michael Golick, three grandchildren, Nick, Jackson, and Emily; two sisters, Amanda (Sally) Jackson and Charlie Mae and Willy Barksdale; a brother, Robert and Debra Jackson; lifelong companion Stacha Chambers. He also had many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends that will miss him dearly.
