Hospice. She had made her home at Thrive at Green Island, where she was lovingly cared for
by her daughter Ethel Griffin.
Cathryn was the daughter of the late Charlie Frank Williams and Ethel Chandler Williams. Her
sisters are the late Cora LaDelle Williams Riley and Ethel “Sally” Williams Foley. Cathryn is
survived by her twin sister, Camille Williams Taylor Yow of Atlanta, GA.
Cathryn was married to the late Walter Dawson Kilgore. They reared four children in Columbus
before retiring to Naples, Florida where they enjoyed boating and club activities.
Cathryn attended The Davidson School in Atlanta, Georgia, and Deveaux School in
Philadelphia. She was a member of The Junior League of Columbus, First Baptist Church in
Columbus, The Country Club of Columbus and loved volunteering at the Boys Club. Cathryn
enjoyed being a housewife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was thrilled
when her namesake, Cathryn Pease had twins, Cathryn and Cora.
Cathryn is also survived by her children, Gerry Pearson Kilgore (Connie) of Kennesaw, GA,
Ethel Williams Kilgore Griffin, of Phenix City, AL, Walter (Bubba) Dawson Kilgore Jr., of
Columbus, GA, Roy Gibson Kilgore (Kathy), of Albertville, AL. She also is survived by six
grandchildren, Eric Wayne Griffin (Michelle) of Summerville, SC, Cathryn Williams Griffin Pease
(Adam) of Columbus, GA, Ramona Kilgore Williams, (Mica) of Marietta, GA, Pearson Kilgore
(Caitlyn) of Kennesaw, GA, Ashley Kilgore Cacciaguida (Andrew) of Denver, CO, Brandon
Kilgore (Liz) of San Diego, CA, and eight Great Grandchildren: Abigail Judith Griffin, Adam
Reynolds Pease, Jr., Hattie Williams Pease, Emily Cathryn Griffin, Camille Flournoy Pease,
Cathryn LaNelle Pease, Cora Jackson Pease, and Meredith Williams.
The family would like to thank the team members at Thrive at Green Island who loved and
helped take care of Cathryn. The family would also like to express their gratitude for their
extraordinary and compassionate care to Columbus Hospice.
Visitation will be in the First Baptist Church Porter Chapel on Monday October 16, 2023 at 10:00 AM with the service following at 11:00 AM.
