Brian James Singletary, 44, of Midland, Georgia passed away on June 20, 2023 at Piedmont Midtown Hospital. He was born in Columbus, Georgia on June 14, 1979. Brian was a Shaw High School graduate of 1997. Brian faithfully served his country in the United States Army and Army reserves for several years. He was serving in Kuwait active duty when 9/11 occurred. Brian worked for many years in the heating and air industry, he specialized in air conditioning. He worked for several companies in the Columbus area. Brian was a loving and caring person who will truly be missed.
He is survived by his mother, Karen Long; stepfather Richard Long; brother Phillip Long; grandmother Ruth O’Neill; children: Haley, Carson, Chloe, Ava, Brian, Jr., and Aiden; two grandchildren; several aunts, uncles, cousins and other family members. Brian was preceded in death by his grandfather Donald O’Neill, aunt Sharon Bartee, and cousin Brandy Bramlett.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the St. Elmo Room at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia 31907. A service to celebrate Brian’s life will be held on Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary. Burial with military honors will be in Fort Mitchell National Cemetery, Fort Mitchell, Alabama.
