Bobby Edward Smith

Bobby Edward Smith, 71, of Box Springs, GA passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at his home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 am Friday, June 3, 2016 in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, GA 31907 with Reverend John Sheeley officiating. Interment to follow in Parkhill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Mr. Smith, son of the late Juanita Warr Smith and James Ford Smith, was born July 6, 1944 in Columbus, GA. In 1977, Mr. Smith opened Smith Painting Contractor. He was passionate about bass fishing and fishing in tournaments. Mr. Smith was a lifetime member of Bass Masters Association Society and FLW. He loved spending time with his family, working and hunting.

Mr. Smith is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Elaine Smith of Box Springs, GA; son Bobby E. Smith, II (Kimberly) of Box Springs, GA; daughter Angelia Drake (Ashley) of Box Springs, GA; grandchildren Ashley Spencer McClellan, Casey Edward Smith, Timothy James Smith, Taylor Dean Smith and Leslie Mitchell Morrison, Jr.; great grandchildren Adrien, Gracen and Gannon; brother Jerry Smith; sisters Juanell Robinette and Delores Laney; best friend and fishing buddy Carlos Sellers.
