Beverly Jackie Sharp, age 80, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Monday, September 4, 2023. The family will hold private services. The family will welcome visitors after 3:00 pm Friday, September 8, 2023 at the home of Ken and Marty.
Jackie was born in Tallassee, AL on June 28, 1943; the daughter of Ernie Lee Bailey and Minnie Catherine Bailey. Jackie married the love of her life, William Newton Sharp on, October 17th 1962 . They raised their family in Columbus and throughout the years, Jackie enjoyed volunteering in the children’s schools. Bake sales, concessions, selling tickets in the ticket booth, Jackie was always there supporting her children, grandchildren and their schools. She was a member of the Junior League, she was a past President of the Dental Auxiliary, and was known to be one of Auburn’s most ardent fans, the school, the football team, and the town of Auburn. Jackie enjoyed entertaining, spending time with friends, and listing to 50’s Doo Wop Music. Jackie loved being a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, she cherished the times they spent together, especially when they were enjoying a Lake Martin Sunset together.
Jackie is preceded in death by: her parents.
Survivors include: her husband, William Newton Sharp; her daughter, Margaret Katherine “Marty” (Ken) Chung; a son, Matthew Tyler (Jill) Sharp; her grandchildren, Joy (Marc) Shannon, Dolan (Taylor) Mitchell, Chandler Chung, Chance Chung, Hope (P.J.) Spina, Bailey Sharp; great grandchildren, Lily Kate Shannon, Jes Shannon, and Katherine Blake “K.B.” Mitchell.
