Betty L. Brazil Henderson

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby with Reverend Barry Danner officiating. Burial will follow in Parkhill Cemetery. Her family will receive friends from 12:30 PM until time of service in Edgewood Hall. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Columbus Hospice, www.columbushospice.com

Betty Brazil Henderson was born on April 23, 1929 in LaGrange, Georgia to the late Rev. Charlie P. Brazil and Mary P. Brazil. She worked in Civil Service at Ft. Benning and a devoted member of First Assembly of God Church in Phenix City, Alabama. Betty is preceded in death by her daughter, Darlene Burkett and brothers, Charles Brazil and Ray Brazil. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her son, Gramon “Butch” (Judy) Anderson; grandchildren: Laura (Mark) Smith, Scott (Mary) Burkett, and Chris Burkett; great-grandchildren: Rebecca Smith, Melissa (Steve) Atkinson, Michael Smith, Sarah Burkett, Katie Burkett, and Dakota Burkett; one great great-grandchild, Addie Atkinson; sisters, Rose L. Psalmonds of Columbus, Barbara Yates of Cameron, NC, Shirley Vance of Bowden, GA, Wylene Keily of Cameron, NC; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
