Betty Pfafflin Baxley, 87, of Columbus, Georgia, entered her heavenly home on January 13, 2024. A Visitation for Betty will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at 4:00 – 6:00 pm. A graveside service will be held at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Road, Columbus, GA 31907 on Thursday, January 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
Betty had a passion for teaching. She was a dedicated first grade teacher at South Columbus for many years. When she wasn’t teaching, Betty loved to tend to the flowers in her garden. Betty also loved cats and her husband, Tom. She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents, Mattie and Leland Pfafflin. She is survived by her husband, Tom Simmons, and children, Leah Baxley and David Baxley.
