Benjamin “Frank” Franklin Killingsworth, Jr., 87, was escorted by his Savior to his Heavenly home on March 30, 2018, after a courageous battle with cancer. The family will welcome friends on Monday, April 2, 2018 from 6-8 PM in St. Elmo of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road Columbus, Georgia. Funeral services will be officiated by Reverend Paul Thomas and Reverend Watson McKemie and will be held at 1:30 PM on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at Evangel Temple Assembly of God, 5350 Veterans Parkway Columbus, Georgia, with Mr. Killingsworth being laid to rest at Georgetown Cemetery, 133 South St. Georgetown, Georgia, following the service.
Mr. Killingsworth was born in Phenix City, Alabama, on March 7, 1931, to the late Frank and Lois Killingsworth. He led an extraordinary and powerful life. His compassion, caring, and ministry to others impacted the lives of many. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, and Poppy. He was called to follow the Lord early in life. Mr.Killingsworth graduated from Southwestern Assembly of God University in Waxahachie, Texas, with a degree in Theology. A friend to all, he was never too busy or too sick to pray for and minister to others. Mr. Killingsworth leaves a legacy of love, faith, and service to Jesus.
After retiring from IBC Dolly Madison as a Truck Driver, Mr. Killingsworth became heavily involved as a member of Evangel Temple Assembly of God in Columbus, Georgia, where he sought after God’s own heart by supporting his local assembly and going on numerous mission trips.
Alongside his parents, Mr. Killingsworth is also preceded in death by a sister. Mr. Killingsworth is survived by his devoted wife, Betty Turner Killingsworth; two brothers: Donald and Alquin Killingsworth; one sister: Mary Lindley; seven children: Don (Janice) Killingsworth, Wendy Taylor, Dixie Brown, Candee (Marco) Morales, Frank (Cindy) Killingsworth, III, Denise (David) Wade McLeod and Jack (Pat) Turner; 14 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
