Barbara Nell Scott, age 77, of Columbus, Georgia passed away on Friday July 3, 2020. A Graveside Celebration of Barbara’s Life, will be held Thursday, July 9, 2020 at 11:00 AM. In Parkhill cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd. Columbus, GA. A reception will follow in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby.
Barbara was born October 4, 1942 in Columbus, Georgia to Johnnie McCune Scott and John Alton Scott. Barbara was a life-long resident of Columbus. She was the youngest of four siblings, with three older brothers, who she adored. She was Methodist by faith and an avid Christian. Barbara was a very ethical, honest, loyal and hardworking Bookkeeper/Accountant for Johnstone Supply Company. Barbara never married but focused her maternal instincts on her brothers’ families. She was a selfless Caregiver and enjoyed sitting with her niece and nephews. She had a great sense of humor and was lots of fun to be with. Barbara will always be remembered for her selfless giving and for always doing the right things.
Barbara is preceded in death by; father, John Alton Scott; mother, Johnnie McCune Scott; and brothers, Edd C Scott, Norman Earl Scott, and Charles R Scott. She is survived by her nephews, Chuck and Norman “Scotty” Scott; niece, Paula Nell Strickland; cousins, Barbara Faye Strickland and Vera Ann Green; other family members and many friends.
