Barb was born on February 27, 1952, and passed away peacefully on January 8, 2021 in Columbus, GA where she and her husband of 44 years, J. Michael Robinson, were living. She was born in Charleston, SC and raised in Rome, GA.
Barb was preceded in death by her parents, Graham Stevens and Jane Stevens of Rome.
She graduated from West Rome High School (Class of 1970). She later moved to Atlanta and began a career in the insurance business as a Customer Service Rep and Marketing Executive. It was there that she met and married Mike in 1976. Their jobs led them to St. Simons Island and Smyrna, GA, and then to Indianapolis, IN for 14 years. After moving back South to Columbus, GA in 2002, she remained a faithful Christian and became a member of Cascade Baptist Church.
Barb enjoyed life as much as anyone could and had numerous friends everywhere she went. Her beautiful smile was said to light up any room she entered. Barb loved her family dearly and was loved, dearly. She was an avid Auburn Tigers fan and enjoyed Tailgate and TV watch parties. Barb loved the beach, reading her Nook, and watching Hallmark movies. She also loved to travel, including going on numerous cruises with Mike, family members, and her two closest childhood friends from Rome, GA.
Barb’s greatest pride and love in life was her four children and six grandchildren who called her “Bebe” and loved her dearly.
Barb is survived by her husband, Mike, and two brothers, Steve Stevens (Brenda) and Michael Stevens (Candy). Four surviving children are Elisabeth Pannell (Adam), Brian L Pruett (Michele), John M. Robinson, and Scott A. Robinson. Her grandchildren are Anna, Jessie, and Drew Pannell, Logan and Quinn Pruett, and Kamryn Robinson. In addition, she had many close cousins, nieces, and nephews. Barb will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.
On Sunday, January 17, 2021, a Visitation (1:00 pm) and Memorial Service (2:00 pm) will be held at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary on Macon Road in Columbus, GA.
