She graduated from Rosemont High School in LaGrange, GA. Virginia, as she was always called, married Floyd “Joel” Roberts on May 1, 1953, and they spent 31 cherished years together before his passing. Virginia spent her life taking care of others. She loved her family, talking with her sisters, and time spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed her pets, working in her yard planting flowers and watching Braves or Falcons with her son, Larry. Virginia retired from Columbus Mills after 32 years of hard work and dedication. She was a member of Morningside Baptist Church.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Annie Lou Geiger; husband, Floyd “Joel” Roberts; brother, Alfred Langford; and sister, Louise Bohannon.
Survivors include her son, Larry Roberts; daughter, Susan (Paul) McGuire; granddaughters, Lauren McGuire and Lindsay McGuire; sisters, Lovine Perdue and Ruth Williams; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 22, 2020 at Edgewood Hall Chapel at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary with visitation preceding the funeral service. The family asks for any donations to go to the Alzheimer’s Association.
