Barbara Evelyn Kelly Foster

Barbara Evelyn Foster, age 66, resident of Columbus, died on June 20, 2014. Funeral services are scheduled at Edgewood Hall of Striffler-Hamby, Columbus on Tuesday, June 24, 2014, 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Richard Kelly officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, June 23, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Foster was born November 18, 1947 in Columbus, GA to the late Richard J. Kelly and Nell Jarvis Kelly. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt whom loved her family deeply. Mrs. Foster enjoyed vacationing at the beach, fishing at the lake, teaching Sunday school, dancing, telling funny family stories, and giving generously to others. She enjoyed spending time with and cooking for her children and grandchildren most of all. Mrs. Foster was a member of River of Life Church in Phenix City, AL. She retired from Kellogg’s as a machine operator after 24 years. Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by one grandchild, Gavin Foster. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, David R. Foster of Columbus, GA; one son, Larry R. Foster, married to Nicole, of Raleigh, NC; two daughters, Kellie R. Murphy, married to Craig, of Columbus, GA, Veronica L. Peoples, married to Jason, of Phenix City, AL; one sister, Madge Nobles of Milner, GA; two brothers, Richard J. Kelly Jr, married to Rita, of Columbus, GA and William J. Kelly, married to Lisa, of Auburn, AL; 14 grandchildren; 12 nephews and nieces; and many great-nephews and great-nieces.
