Audrey was born August 5, 1934 in Ponce De Leon, Florida to Mary (Ammons) Terry and AB “Block” Terry. She was raised in Florida with her cherished siblings – Sister Vernie, and Brothers Oliver and Jimmy. Audrey met the love of her life David Thomasson in Florida and they raised two beautiful children together – Son Ronnie, and Daughter Donna. David’s time in the Army eventually brought the family to Fort Benning, Georgia. The family lived in the Columbus area before settling in Phenix City, Alabama. David passed away in 1988, but Audrey remained steadfast in her love and loyalty to him until the day she died and eagerly awaited their reunion.
Audrey devoted her life to her family and to the Lord. She and David volunteered their time at Benning Drive Assembly of God where she taught Sunday school. They later transitioned to Golden Acres Assembly of God in Phenix City. Even up to the time of her passing, Audrey fondly recalled and shared memories of the families and children she taught at Sunday school all those years ago. She still kept in touch with, and prayed for, those families keeping them close to her heart.
Many will remember Audrey as the smiling and warm-hearted employee of the Member’s Alliance Credit Union on Bradley Park Drive in Columbus. She loved her work and her co-workers, and adored each of her customers.
Audrey Thomasson is survived by her Son Ronald (Debbie) Thomasson and six Grandchildren – Tara (Bryan) Walters, David (Andrea) Davis, Travis (Molly) Davis, Tessa Davis, Brian (Amber) Manderson, and Evan (Melissa) Manderson. Audrey is also survived by her seven Great-grandchildren whom she cherished deeply. Along with her parents and siblings, Audrey was preceded in death by her husband David, and her daughter Donna Davis.
The family would like to thank each member of Audrey’s church family who have reached out to assist her in her recent illness. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to Audrey’s next door neighbors who became family, Mike and Kadie Bedford and their two children.
Graveside services for Audrey will be held Monday, March 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Parkhill Cemetery, 4161 Macon Rd, Columbus, Georgia 31907.
