Funeral services will be 11:00 am on Friday, May 12, 2023 in the Mill Room of Striffler-Hamby Mortuary; Columbus, GA. Interment with Military Honors will follow at Ft. Mitchell National Cemetery, Ft. Mitchell, AL. A visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
Arlan was born in Black River Falls, WI to the late Albert Stone and Lillian Savage Stone. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from September 3, 1964 - December 1, 1984 during that time, he served in Vietnam from September 1964 to May 1975. After his retirement from the Army Arlan began a second career as a Machinist until his final retirement. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved to watch old Cowboy movies and spending time with family and friends. Arlan was a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States, Post 5000 a member of the American Legion and the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter #1133. Arlan was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Stone and nieces, Cheryl and Sheila Rae.
Arlan is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Hong S. Stone of Columbus, GA, son, Al Stone, daughter, Debra Stone Mosley (Michael), grandchildren, Ryne Campbell (MacKenzie), Connor Stone, and Collin Stone, great grandchildren, Kennedy and Carson Campbell, a brother, Leonard Stone of Spokane, WA a sister, Clarice Stone of Whitehall, WI and numerous nieces and nephews.
