SFC (Ret) Andrew K. Kalama, age 84, resident of Roswell, Georgia and former resident of Columbus, passed away on Monday, May 1, 2017. Private interment with military honors will be held at Main Post Cemetery, Fort Benning, Georgia.
Mr. Kalama was born on September 23, 1932 in Hilo, Hawaii. He served his country honorably in the United States Army. During his distinguished military career, he served two tours in Vietnam and also served during the Korean Conflict. During his years of service he became an Airborne Master Parachutist and was awarded the Silver Star and Bronze Star. Following his military career, he worked with Civil Service at Fort Benning.
Andrew is survived by his wife, Bonnie Nolin of Roswell, Georgia; one daughter Kim Greer and her husband Tommy of Roswell, Georgia; two grandsons, Colin Greer of Chesapeake, VA and Davis Greer of Auburn, AL; a sister, Lana Chow of Pahoa, HI; many nieces;nephews; and friends.
