Mr. Elliott was born August 2, 1931 in Proctorville, OH one of five sons and four daughters of the late Wilbur and Grace Elliott of Bellefontaine, OH and graduated from Bellefontaine High School. Mr. Elliott served in the Ohio Army National Guard and a 22-year career in the Air Force with assignments in Ohio and England before retiring in Fayetteville, NC in 1973.
Mr. Elliott enjoyed his family, was passionate in his Christian faith, and a devoted reader of his Daily Bread devotional.
He was preceded in death by brothers Billie, Wilbur, James, and Dan Elliott, Eloise Sutter, Eva Jane Kear, and Sarah Elliott, daughters Teresa Goates and Catherine Byfield and previous wife Anne Mauer.
He is survived by his current wife Sally Elliott and step-children Susan Herman, Harold Herman, Bruriah Herman, and Geneva Winchester.
He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Grace and David Hagenow; sister-in-law, Ruth Elliott; son and daughter-in-law, Steve and Meredith Elliott; grandchildren Ryan, Andrew, Jessica, Jakob, Aaron and Matthew Elliott, and Catherine Campbell; great-grandchildren, Branden, Nathan, and Leah Campbell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in the U.S. and England.
A private service for immediate family and military burial will be held in Ft. Jackson National Cemetery. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is assisting the family.
