GREAT FALLS – William Lewis Brasington, 80, went to fish the heavenly shores on Sunday, April 25, 2021. Born in Pleasant Hill, SC, he was the son of the late William Brasington and Etta Deese Brasington. He was very proud to be a hardworking man, working at all three J.P. Stevens Mills in Great Falls until they closed, and retiring from Cinderella Knitting Mill. William had a love for growing tomatoes, fishing and hunting with his beagles. He was the best Paw Paw in the world.
Surviving are his daughters, Wanda B. Harris (Chris) of Great Falls, SC and Susan B. Jacobs (Eric) of Fort Mill, SC; grandchildren, Erin Harris of Fort Mill, SC and Chloe Harris of Charleston, SC, George Jacobs III and Waylon Jacobs, both of Fort Mill, SC; sisters, Ruth Morrow (Floyd) of Lugoff, SC and Sarah Paul of Concord, NC; brothers-in-law, John O’Donnell of Camden, SC and Ronald Stevenson of Great Falls, SC; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette Ellis Brasington; brothers, Ray Brasington and John Brasington; and sisters, Betty O’Donnell and Mary Stevenson.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2021 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at the church.
