Wendy Butler Nicholas

COLUMBIA - A memorial service for Wendy Butler Nicholas, 50, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Mrs. Nicholas died Thursday, August 26, 2021. Born in Frankfurt, Germany, she was a daughter of Wendy Dobrzanski and the late Thomas Butler. She received her Bachelor’s degree in History from the University of South Carolina and worked as a Deputy of Public Relations for the Department of Transportation for 16 years. A doting and devoted wife and mother, she always put her family first. Wendy had a strong Christian faith and was a member of The Harvest Church in Lexington. She enjoyed golf, USC sports, and loved the lowcountry.

Surviving are husband, Gregory Nicholas; sons, Noah Walton, Isaac Walton, and Alex Nicholas; mother, Wendy Dobrzanski; grandmother, Yvonne Butler; sisters, Emmie Porter (James) and Belinda Butler; numerous nieces and nephews; and her Pomeranian, Max.
