To Edith and Jane and all Toms loved ones. I just saw Toms obituary as I was looking at his Dad, Park Sarratt's obituary.  My husband Riley Duke served in the Army in Korea with Park. They became great friends. We think of Park often and so wish we could have gotten to met his family. I did visit with Tom on the telephone many years ago and found him to be a very nice, kind , friendly man.  Please know we are thinking of you and sending love and prayers. Riley is still alive at the age of 92, we have been married 66 years, Riley's health is declining but he still is a great man.  Again so sorry for your loss.

Tom, I miss you buddy-you were a blast to hang with, and playing in the Docs House Band with you was an honor. Always smiling, always great at improvising, always locked in with the drummer. You taught me to be aware of dynamics and how to blend volume wise with the band to create the larger music mosaic. You rock my brother-take your place in music heaven with the best there--and teach them a thing or two--peace-until we see each other again. 

Tom was one of the kindest, friend I have had in my life.  I met Tom in 1981 when I bought my first stereo.  Through the years he became loved by my entire family.  I consider myself lucky to have shared his love for music and was privileged to play in many bands with him over the years.  My father called him "Columbia's oldest teenager" His record still stands.

I met Tom early in 1987 at Audio Alternative through business.  Almost immediately, I felt like I had known Tom my whole life.  Tom had a big heart and he will be missed.



My friend, mentor, business partner, we experienced life head on during our 20 +yrs. of friendship and I will deeply miss him.

Tom Sarratt (AKA "Old Pappy")- You were my boss, teacher, sounding board, comic relief, cheerleader, and friend. You believed in me, invested in me, and pushed me beyond what I thought was possible. I am forever grateful. I miss you and I love you. Rest in Peace.

Smart, funny, inquisitive, talented, and honest....always up for lively conversation. You are already missed.....Rest Well my Friend.

I still have fond memories of Tom when he roomed with a friend of mine in college-they lived on the Horseshoe.  Every morning, he threw open the window and let out a huge roar of a lion! Every time I saw him after that, even though there were years in between, I'd let out a roar in greeting. He was one of a kind, and I never saw him without a smile on his face. To his friends and family- I know that you know this, but Tom left this world a happier place for all who knew him. I'm so sorry for your loss.

So sorry to hear that Big Tom passed. We remember the good times had with MacGregor in the Crawling Kingsnakes, as well as with Elliot and the Untouchables. Keep the blues alive in Heaven, Tom!

I knew Tom many, many years, and it was always a joy to join in conversation with him, and even more so when he was on stage. He always left me with a smile on my face. Love ya Bro, you will be missed, but not forgotten.

Dear family members...I went to HS with Tommy.  Loved him.  I am so sorry for your loss and for the loss of the Class of 72.  We were so hoping Tommy would be able to attend our reunion in September. Was not aware that he was ill. Please know we will be praying for you during this most difficult time.

Sorry to hear of Tom's passing. I've known Tom since he owned Audio Alternative back in the 80's. He was always in a jovial mood and a staple around the Cola music scene and Carolina sporting events. RIP Tom.

Through thick and thin, Tom was always first and foremost a loyal friend. Of all the things I learned from Tom this is the one I will remember most and hope to carry this sentiment forward in my own life. Thanks Tom for reminding me what is most important. Safe travels buddy.

Tom was the best! We went to USC together and he was funny, smart and talented.  I talked to him 2 years ago and he had not changed a bit.  I am so sorry for your loss

So sorry to learn of the loss of Tommy.  I knew him back in the '70s, college days.  He was a great guy then and I'm sure he was a great man.

Over the past few years I've had the good fortune to share many happy hours with Tom at the pub.  He was an interesting gentleman with lots of neat stories, good natured ribbing, and I could tell he was an expert in his work and his music. We lost a fine fella this week, he'll be sorely missed, everybody liked Tom. My deepest sympathy to his family and loved ones.

Tom helped me buy my first stereo system years ago, then I would drop by his shop and we would listen to and talk music. I kept meaning to get back in touch with him. Great guy.

I will always remember him in the kitchen with one of his friends making elaborate preparations for the dinner that would follow for all visitors that came to stay at the Sarratt homestead telling funny stories that would make you laugh out loud while always listening to his favorite music blasting in the back ground on his stereo with perfect sound!  He was a jovial man with a big heart!  He will be missed by all that knew him.

Tom sold me my very first stereo system. Every time I saw him, I would ask if he remembered me from that sale. After years of asking, he finally told me to stop asking cause he always remembered me.
