Susan Vannerson Pelosi

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 24, 2023 at Shandon United Methodist Church.

She was born May 19, 1947 to Frances Hughey Vannerson and A. A. Vannerson in Columbia, SC. Susan attended A.C. Moore Elementary School, Hand Junior High School and Dreher High School graduating in 1965. She received a degree from Palmer Business College in 1969. She became a proofreader for The State Newspaper and Kohn Printing Co.

Courageous and optimistic in the face of challenges, Susan never complained or said, “I can’t.” She loved her family, her friends, her church, the Gamecocks, Lake Murray, her cats and dogs, western movies, chocolate and cheeseburgers.

She was predeceased by her parents and her husband Daniel R. Pelosi. She is survived by her daughter Susan Danielle Pelosi and her brother Robert (Bob) Vannerson.

A very special thanks goes out to her lifelong friends, Jan Merchant and Frankie Staub Stroker and to the faithful members of the George Huggins Sunday School Class at Shandon United Methodist Church.
