Stacy passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, Wednesday, February 10, 2016. Born October 27, 1964 in Greenville, South Carolina, she was a daughter of Tonia Gail Ramsey and the late Robert Lewis Ramsey. In a lifetime we seldom meet someone with the charisma and infectious personality that Stacy possessed. She was a bright, outgoing, caring, kind, loving light that was adored by all who knew or even met her. She was truly one of a kind. Stacy touched so many lives with her passionate faith and trust in the Lord. She prepared her family to always know that He would carefully and strategically guide them through the difficult times in life. Stacy was a member of Northeast Presbyterian Church, where over the years she witnessed and shared her testimonies. She also served on multiple church committees and enjoyed women’s ministries and decorating the lamppost. Her mission trips to Nicaragua with her daughter, Laurel, and fellow church members proved to be one of the most rewarding experiences. She was an active member of Focus Bible Study for over 10 years, bringing countless women into the fold. An integral part of Stacy’s life was Camp KEMO. She was an extraordinarily active board member, volunteer and “Mama” to all her camp family. Stacy served as a Camp KEMO board member since 2006, Vice Chairman 2013 and the Board Chairman 2014, 2015. Stacy’s dedication to Camp KEMO reflected in all aspects of her life. She inspired all those she loved to volunteer and give themselves to camp. Stacy always made sure everyone involved in camp; donor, supporter, or volunteer felt special and knew that she loved and appreciated them. Surviving are her beloved husband of 27 years, Scott Clifford Sawyer; daughters, Kelsey Gail Sawyer and Laurel Ann Sawyer. Stacy’s life revolved around caring for her family. She was especially proud of her two beautiful daughters and the amazing women they have become. In addition to her mother, Toni, she is also survived by her cherished sister, Stephanie Ramsey Stephenson (John); her mother-in-law and father in-law, Ann and Roy Sawyer; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Val Sawyer (Betsy), Phyllis Trippe (Paul) and Mike Sawyer (Sharon); and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and a great nephew, whom she dearly loved. Stacy will be dearly missed by her family as well as her countless friends. She was predeceased by her dear son, Robert Cole Sawyer, whose passing strengthened her own faith and ability to guide others to the Lord. Cole’s love of Camp KEMO ignited her passion for helping children with childhood cancers. In addition to her son, she was predeceased by her father, Robert Lewis Ramsey, from whom she inherited her giving and fun loving nature. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of the Palmetto Health Richland Intensive Care Unit. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to The Cole and Stacy Sawyer Memorial Foundation, c/o Central Carolina Community Foundation, 2711 Middleburg Drive, Suite 213, Columbia, SC 29204. The purpose of this foundation will be to further Stacy’s vision to help fund a permanent home for Camp Kemo, as well as a place to serve children in need. https://yourfoundation.wufoo.com/forms/p1prf01h0u4uluc/
