Sarah Amanda Bush Walker, 98, entered into rest peacefully at her residence in Evans, GA on Friday, December 16, 2022. Born in Easley, SC, she was the daughter of the late Henry Everette Bush, Sr. and Gertrude Amanda Cantrell Bush.
Sarah graduated from Easley High School and Lander University. She lived a full life, enjoying her children and grand-children, who were the most important joys in her life. She was an active member of Bethel United Methodist Church for over fifty years where she worked as a kindergarten teacher. She influenced many students with her positive outlook and kind heart. She was an avid bridge player who enjoyed entertaining friends and was a proud supporter of Clemson Football.
Sarah was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Walker, Jr.; brothers, Henry Everette Bush, Jr., Allen Cantrell Bush, Sr.; son, John Thomas Walker, III.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah W. Twork (Mark); daughter-in-law, Anne G. Walker (Tommy); six granddaughters, Samara W. Rozier (Bill), Heather W. Bowers (Will), Claire W. Wimmer (Luke), Sarah W. Brock (Mike), Whitney T. Hair (Jon), Courtney E. Twork (David); fifteen great-grandchildren, Hannah Marie Davis (Caleb), Chance Wimmer, Jacob Rozier, Walker Bowers, Megan Rozier, Reagan Rozier, Alex Brock, Georgia Wimmer, Lidge Brock, John Thomas Wimmer, Ramy Claire Wimmer, Anslee Hair, Ayden Hair, Owen Hair, and Wyatt Bell.
Sarah’s love transformed the lives of everyone she encountered. She will be remembered by her infectious smile and unbounded love for her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held 11:00am on Monday, December 19, 2022 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 4600 Daniel Dr, Columbia, SC 29206 with Rev. Brian Thomas and Pastor Julie Belman. Burial will be held 3:00 pm Monday, December 19, 2022 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 595 Old Liberty Rd., Easley, SC 29640. The family will receive friends 10:00am to 11:00am Monday, December 19, 2022 at Bethel United Methodist Church.
