Funeral service for Samantha Jean Chavis, 41, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Samantha passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016. Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of Emory and Jackie Dubose Miles. She was a 1993 graduate of Airport High School and a 2010 graduate of Centura College where she received her CNA Certificate. Samantha was employed at Paul Argoe Screens, North, SC. She was a member of West Side Holiness Church where she volunteered her time and talent. Samantha loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing with her family.
Surviving in addition to her parents, are her husband of 19 years, Michael K. Chavis; sons, Bryan K. Chavis, Garrett D. Chavis; sister, Amanda Shumpert; brother, Donald Miles; and father-in-law, Roy G. “Papoo” Chavis. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Nellie Metts. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Debbie D. Chavis.
