She was born on April 3, 1961 in Columbia, SC to Jack D. and Elizabeth C. Shealy. She grew up with a love of music, the arts and pageantry. Growing up in Lexington, SC she was a graduate of Lexington High School Class of ‘79. She went on to Winthrop College to receive her Bachelors of Art with a major in communications and minor in music. She was an active member of the Delta Zeta Sorority, the Omicron Delta Kappa National Leadership Fraternity, and Copy Editor of the Johnsonien Newspaper on campus.

When Robin was not working, she found joy in music which she shared a passion for with her husband, Don. Robin and Don were founding members of Living Springs Lutheran Church in Northeast Columbia, where Robin was the organist and choir director for many years. Robin and Don also loved cooking and traveling together, having left their hearts in San Francisco!
Robin also loved reading, shopping, and any excuse for a celebration, which she passed down to her daughters, Melissa and Rachel.
She is survived by her husband of 29 years, Donald Lane McMillin, Jr; daughters, Melissa Cofar (Jason) and Rachel Noyes (Daniel); brothers, Chris Shealy (Dana) and Scott Shealy (Robert); and the lights of her life, her four grandchildren, Willa and Max Cofar, Molly and Lucy Noyes.
