COLUMBIA Graveside service for Robert R. Salisbury, 90, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, June 26, 2015, in Greenlawn Memorial Park. Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is in charge. Mr. Salisbury died Sunday, June 21, 2015. Born in Columbia, he was a son of the late William Lewis Salisbury and Jimmie Sue Richardson Salisbury. Mr. Salisbury was a graduate of Columbia High School and the University of South Carolina. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Motor Machinist’s Mate Third Class. He then worked for more than 40 years as an engineer for the S.C. Highway Department Bridge Design. Mr. Salisbury enjoyed designing and home construction, watching Turner Classic movies, being with his family and caring for his granddaughter and his dog. He was a member of Sherwood Forest ARP Church. Surviving are his daughter, Lynn Salisbury (Alan Groleau) of Hopkins and granddaughter, Melissa Groleau of Gilbert. He was predeceased by his wife, Frances Price Salisbury; son, Robert Lewis Salisbury; brothers, Frank and Bill Salisbury; sister, Sue Campbell. The family wishes to thank Compassionate Care Hospice for their support as well as James Helms and Michelle Haff for his home care.
