Graveside Services with full military honors will be held 10:00 am Tuesday, October 20, 2020 with inurnment to follow in Fort Jackson National Cemetery.
A native of Akron, Ohio, Robert was born June 12, 1942 to Robert and Laura Maddox Hyre. Bob will be remembered for the way he loved his family. He was a kind, caring man who was well liked by all that knew him. Bob enjoyed gardening and was blessed with a green thumb. Major Hyre was a C-130 Navigator throughout his 20 year Air Force career.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by a son, Robert Brian Hyre and his sister, Martha Morgan. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Elva M. “Sandy” Hyre and close friends, Mary and Wyatt Few.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion, Wounded Warriors, and Parkinson’s Association of Columbia or to the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill (NAMI).
