ELGIN - Robert “Bob” Clark passed away Friday, October 29, 2021, at the age of 90. He was born July 29, 1931 in New York to William and Bersadad Garcia Clark. After graduating from Miami of Ohio University, he served his country during the Korean War before starting a long and illustrious career as a manager for IBM.
He is survived by his wife Tudy; his children, Dan Clark of Holiday FL, Greg (Angel) Clark of Blythewood S.C., Jennifer (Mike) Finch of Columbia S.C., and his stepdaughter, Melissa (Donald) Brus of Windermere FL. He was predeceased by his daughter, Joanne Clark Howard; and his siblings, Billy and Muriel Goldstein. He was a very proud grandfather of Ashley (Nathan) Faulkenberry, Alexandra (Drew) Straitt, Trey Finch, Riley (Thomas) Holliday, Clark Finch, Hannah (Jeff) St.Jeor, Abby (Jonathan) Griffin, Carly Clark, Joseph Brus and Colin Brus. In addition, he was blessed with three great-grandchildren, Brady, Piper and Knox, as well as a niece and two nephews.
Bob Clark was an avid golfer. He loved sharing his insights into life, love, and how his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers or the South Carolina Gamecocks could improve their running game. He was always happy to talk unless Judge Judy was on, which is why his services are scheduled for her local program time. He loved being the star and would appreciate upstaging his own favorite show. He was a fan of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, and Kermit the Frog, belting out lyrics whenever he felt was appropriate.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Dunbar Funeral Home, 4219 Hardscrabble Road, Columbia SC 29223. There will be a brief reception period one hour prior to the service.
