Robert Carlyle Carson, born in Columbia, SC on November 10, 1933, passed away July 23, 2021 in Orlando, Florida.
Carlyle was a US Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War. He later received a BA degree in Business at University of Tampa. He started work for a new airline called National and later worked for Pan American World Airways as a special representative running the Clipper Club at Orlando, Florida.
Carlyle met his wife, Barbara at a young age when Barbara’s mother paid him 10 cents to walk her home from piano lessons. They were married in 1952 at First Baptist Church in Columbia.
Carlyle is survived by his wife, Barbara; two children, Robert and Brett; grandsons, Robert III and Ridge and great grandson, Zander.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, July 30, 2021 at Elmwood Cemetery in Columbia, SC.
