Rebecca S. Babson

HOPKINS – Rebecca S. Babson, 80, of Hopkins, SC, passed away on May 20, 2022. She is survived by her husband, Donald; daughter, Ronda McPherson and granddaughters, Amber, Piper, and Skylar, all of Columbia, SC; brother, Frank Stewart of Aiken, SC; and sister, Lynn van Liew (Greg) of Decatur, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Sybil Stewart, and brother, Jimmy of Hartsville, SC.

Rebecca was a graduate of Columbia Business College and a retired federal employee who worked as a Budget Analyst in the Resource Management office at Fort Jackson.

She was an easygoing lady with many talents including being an excellent seamstress, outstanding cook, a competitive bowler, and an avid reader.

She was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church for many years. She loved her church and its family and was a great supporter of its many programs. She was saddened when she could no longer attend due to health issues. Her family was the centerpiece of her life, and she loved to spend time with her daughter and granddaughters.

The family will receive friends at Lebanon United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 28, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be held in Greenlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lebanon United Methodist Church Building fund, 10220 Garners Ferry Rd, Eastover, SC 29044.
