

Randy Schwartz died suddenly Tuesday, January 18th, 2022. Randy was born in Pittsburgh, PA September 2nd, 1955 to Elmer George and Ursula Dellheim Schwartz. He is survived by his loving mother Ursula Schwartz, his brothers Robert (Sheryl) Schwartz, Richard Schwartz, Russell (Laurie) Schwartz, and his sister Suzanne (Samir) Elhosary. He is also survived by his nieces Elizabeth (Noah) Kahn, Alia Schwartz, Samira Elhosary, Omnaya (Lance) Mong, and nephew Peter (Laura) Schwartz as well as his 11 great-nieces and nephews.
Randy was a member of the first class to graduate from Spring Valley High School (Class of 1972). He earned his BFA in communications design at Parsons School of Design in New York City. He had a successful career in graphic design and marketing management in Aurora, Colorado, then in New York City. He returned to Columbia and established his own marketing and design firm, Randy Schwartz Inc., during which he created the name “University Hill” which is now an official neighborhood in the city of Columbia, SC.
After a short retirement, he used his expertise in microbiotic health and created his life’s passion, Microbiotic Kitchen LLC. The shakes he developed greatly improved the health of his friends and family.
He leaves a vast network of friends who loved him and cherish his memory.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Elmer G. Schwartz Mechanical Engineering Scholarship at USC or to local animal rescues in memory of his beloved pug Oscar.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 5th at noon, at his beloved Okra Hill Farm, 701 Great Circle Drive St. Matthews, 29135.
