Patrick Paul McClain, 101, of Shoreline, WA, died Monday, June 22, 2020 while visiting his daughter here in Columbia, SC. Born in Seattle, Washington, he was the son of the late Dr. William Emmett McClain, Sr. and Elizabeth Agnes Burns McClain.
He attended University of Washington Dental School and graduated in 1950 with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. McClain worked as a dentist and had his own private practice. He was a World War II veteran, and was a POW in Germany at the war’s end.
Dr. McClain was an avid golfer and also enjoyed watching Westerns and salmon fishing. He was a member of Berean Bible Church in Shoreline, WA. He was also a member of The Ballard Elks, Ballard Exchange Club, and The Everett Golf and Country Club.
Surviving are his daughter, Virginia Louise McClain of Columbia, SC; sons, William Emmett McClain of Shoreline, WA and Owen Patrick McClain (Susan) of Moses Lake, WA; two grandchildren, Tricia Maben (Torrey) and Jack Ian McClain (Heather); and four great-grandchildren, Kaia, Matthew, Sydney, and Kayla.
