COLUMBIA – A reception honoring the life of Patricia Hill Potts, 83, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, October 7, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church, 1324 Marion Street, in Jackson Hall. A private burial will be held earlier that day in the Churchyard.
Mrs. Potts was an active member of First Presbyterian Church. She was vital in her work with the Women of the Church, particularly her Hannah House Circle and later her work with Toby’s Place. She received a Partner in Ministry Award recognizing significant contributions for work on behalf of Women’s Ministries. Patricia had a big heart for those in need.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelley Lee Potts of Columbia, South Carolina; her sister, Peggy Hill Ogletree; nieces, Barrie Ogletree Hamilton (Glen), Beth Ogletree Patterson (Steve); nephew, Bradford Ogletree; and numerous grand nieces and grand nephews, all of Sylacauga, Alabama.
Mrs. Potts was predeceased by her husband, Kermit Howard Potts, Jr., her parents, Ruby Wilbanks Hill and Coy Lester Hill, and her many beloved four-pawed companions.
