Born in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Daniel William Davis, Jr. and Carla Donen Davis. Myles graduated from Spring Valley High School and studied economics at Duke University and the University of South Carolina. He later attended MUSC and The University of South Carolina School of Medicine, then pursued his passion, training in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of South Carolina. He was a member of the American Society of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and his career spanned over 30 years. Myles grew up in the Tree of Life Synagogue and was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral. He was also a member of Forest Lake Club.
On any given week, you could find Myles on the court enjoying a competitive game of Tennis with friends or swimming laps when the weather permitted. Myles’ most treasured memories were of his travels with Griffin and Donen. He never missed the opportunity to share his sons’ accomplishments with others while wearing his trademark smile.
He was a beloved father, brother, son, uncle, and doctor. His children and patients were his singular focus, and he listened to and cared for them with unmatched empathy.
Life can always be a struggle, and no one is immune to its challenges. Toward the end of his life, Myles’ mental health suffered, and it is with the utmost despair that we share that this illness proved fatal. Myles carried a heavy burden that became too much for him to bear. In place of flowers, we request donations in Myles’ memory to The National Alliance on Mental Illness-SC (https://namisc.org/).
