Mildred Mills Watson

COLUMBIA - Mildred (Millie) Mills Watson, 89, slipped gently into glory on September 2, 2015. A devout Christian and profound Prayer Warrior, she was fully prepared for her journey to meet our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Born in Linwood, NC she was the daughter of the late Henry R. and Rose Bailey Mills. A Scottish descendant, Millie’s passion for golf was only surpassed by her love of serving her Lord. Her deep abiding faith was the foundation upon which she raised her family. She was a charter member of Northeast United Methodist Church, a longstanding member of the Tea Time Book Club Bible Study, a Pilgrim of the Emmaus Walk and a former member of the Woodlands Ladies Golf Association. Surviving is her son; Joe Watson (Lynn) of Columbia, daughters Teri McKinney (Foster) of Columbia and Kim Likins (Steve) of Hilton Head Island; grandchildren, Christy Hancock (Rob) Shawn McKinney, Patrick McKinney, Ben Likins, Alex Likins and great grandchild Kate Hancock. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Leslie Z. Watson, Jr. A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2015 at 11:00 am at Northeast United Methodist Church.
