

Lynn passed away peacefully on January 15, 2023, while surrounded by her family. She was born in Florence, SC, and grew up in Columbia, SC. She later moved to Charleston, SC, where she resided on Sullivan’s Island.
Lynn attended Spring Valley High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Early Childhood Education and graduated with honors from the University of South Carolina. Upon graduation, Lynn became a school teacher at Windsor Elementary and was awarded Teacher of the Year. After teaching she was employed by Xerox Corporation and then became a financial advisor for more than 30 years. She was employed by Merrill Lynch, USB Paine Webber, and Wells Fargo during her career. She constantly strived to be the best advisor possible for each of her valued clients. She retired in 2017.
Lynn was a member of Chi Omega Sorority, Junior League, and volunteered for countless non-profit organizations. She was deeply rooted in her faith and always willing to help others.
She loved animals, traveling, running, and cycling.
Lynn was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mary Rutledge, and survived by her sisters Cindy Casto (Mike), Deborah Kline (Rick), Pamela Brown (Peter) and her nieces, Hanna Finn (Bill), and Ashley, McKain, Cecilia and Mary Rutledge Brown.
The family would like to thank the staff at MUSC in Charleston, Wildewood Downs and Amedisys Home Hospice Care in Columbia, for their compassion and care during her brief illness.
A service will be held on Thursday, January 19th, at 11:00 a.m., followed by a Visitation and Celebration of Life at Dunbar Funeral Home, 3926 Devine Street, Columbia, SC, 29205. A private burial will be held on Friday at noon at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209.
