LEXINGTON - Mary Ellen Mims, 90, of Lexington, SC passed away Monday, August 14, 2017. She was born October 14, 1926 in Salters, SC to the late A.D. “Dewey” and Annie C. Mims. She was the third of six children.
She is survived by her sisters, Florence Metts and Grace Wilson (Luther); four nephews and one niece.
Mary retired from a long career with Santee Electric Cooperative in Kingstree, SC. Her lifelong passion was sewing and, as a member of South Lexington Baptist Church, she was an active member of the Agape Stitchers sewing group. The group provides much needed items for hospice patients.
Graveside Services will be held at Mt. Vernon Methodist Church, 84 Vernon Rd., Greeleyville, SC on Friday, August 18, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Lexington Baptist Church, 116 Brevard Parkway, Lexington, SC 29073 and Mt. Vernon Methodist Church.
Elmwood Funeral Home and Cremation is assisting the family with arrangements.
